California Magdesian was started by two brothers in LA in 1952. Having knowledge of footwear making in both Armenia and in Russia the brothers were working for another LA company when they began to make shoes in their garage for extra money. Soon they were discovered as true craftsman. The name and reputation soon spread to other southern resort towns and soon they were known for sandals shoes of quality in sizes and widths. Today Magdesian is still run by family of the 2nd generation and training the third for the future. The shoes are still hand crafted in LA county in the City of Industry, CA. Magdesian uses imported fine grade Italian leather as well as American leather. We make shoes in size 4 to 14 and in Super Slim (SS) to Double Wide (WW).
